Animal Adventures - Giraffe Feeding

Meet Our Giraffes during the

Giraffe Feedings

at Twiga Station

Feeding times are from

10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm daily!

Did you know the word “twiga” means giraffe in Swahili?  At the Twiga Station, you can meet our giraffes, learn about them, and have a chance to feed one of them!  These gentle giants eat as much as 70 pounds of leaves a day.  Help the keepers by feeding the giraffes various types of browse.  Be sure to check out their amazingly long tongues!

Tickets

Appropriate for all ages, each encounter ticket is $5 per person, plus a regular paid zoo admission. Tickets can be purchased in the park during feeding times. Parents may go into the feeding station with children to assist and take pictures for free. A ticket must be purchased to participate in the feeding, regardless of age. No reservations are made.

What to Know

This is a keeper-supervised feeding to ensure that it’s a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests, our keepers, and most especially, our giraffes. Groups of up to 8 people are taken to the station at one time. We reserve the right to make last-minute decisions regarding the group size of the visit. The feeding area is handicap accessible. No service animals are allowed in the station.

The station is in a shaded outdoor enclosure; however, if the weather conditions are questionable, please call ahead to check if we are still selling tickets. Feedings are not available if there is lightning, heavy rain, or freezing temperatures.
