Update from Zoo Director

Posted On: May 11th, 2020

Not Open at this time: As a new zoo, we have multiple types of operations at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. In addition to the wonderful new zoo and its animals; we also have indoor exhibit areas much like a museum. We have a great restaurant, the Safari Club Restaurant, serving food in the Zoo, as well as, hours for dining beyond the Zoo’s normal operating hours. We have areas were our guests have an opportunity to have close encounters with some animals. And, we have some amusement rides for the more adventurous guests. All of these currently have different recommendations or restrictions on how they may be managed. As we all move into a “Safer from Home” mode of operations, the AGCZ looks forward to being able to open up soon. Some areas may have to remain closed or have restrictions but we hope to be inviting guests back to the Zoo in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, the Safari Club Restaurant is serving take out food and will be open for Dine-In service starting May 11 at 4pm. Please stay safe and healthy. We look forward to seeing you soon!
