In the South American Adventure, you will walk along a boardwalk in the “jungle” to discover and meet a variety of animals from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. During this adventure, you will learn about tortoises, macaws, sloths, and the importance of tropical forests in our everyday lives. Plus, you may get to interact with our sloths… up close and personal! Join us for a South American Adventure!
Appropriate for all ages, each adventure ticket is $24.95 per person, plus a regular paid zoo admission. Tickets can be purchased in the park on the day of your visit. Open to all ages. Children under age 10 must be accompanied by a paying adult. No reservations are needed. Adventures are done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Guests are taken in throughout the day in 20-minute intervals. Groups of up to 6 people are taken into the adventure at one time. This is a keeper-supervised adventure, and to ensure that it’s a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests, our keepers, and most especially, our sloths, we reserve the right to make last-minute decisions regarding the group size of the visit.
Sloths are not able to be held. The adventure area is handicap accessible. Service animals are not allowed in the exhibit.
The exhibit is in a shaded, outdoor enclosure; however, if the weather conditions are questionable, please call ahead to check if we are still selling tickets. Adventures are not available if there is lightning in the area or if it’s storming. The level of interactions are dependent on the animal’s temperament and interest in participation.
