What an Adventure!
We recently received a very interesting package from a grandmother, Shelia Borders, whose grandson, Gage, came to visit her on the Gulf Coast of Alabama. They played on the beach and visited our zoo! They wrote a story together and sent it to us since one of our favorite little monkeys has a starring role!
Thank you so much for visiting us and sharing your book!

FUNdraising!!
Thank you to one of our biggest fans, Abigail Cheves of Summerdale, AL. As a big fan of our zoo she decided to hold a fundraiser at her school. She asked her classmates to donate spare change for the "Little Zoo"...and the coins were rolling in!! Mrs. Weaver's class collected the most change. All together, Abigail raised $600.42 which she brought to us in the form of a very large check!
This money will help with all sorts of things for our animals: toys, food, blankets, and more! We are so proud of our local community, especially the young people who get involved and want to make a difference.
Thank you, Abigail! You are definitely a kid with character!
Lemonade for a Cause
Big thanks to young entrepauners, Grace Michaelis and Livy James! They had an old fashioned lemonade stand one warm Sunday afternoon to raise money to help feed Electroglide, the charming pelican who came to recover from an injured wing and has decided to stay a while.
Together they raised $87.50 which bought over 25 pounds of fish for the pelican and a few packs of jello for some very lucky monkeys! While shopping at Bruno's, the store manager asked what all the fish was for and when they explained, he donated lots of fresh produce! The girls were happy to deliver Bruno's donation of fresh strawberries, oranges, carrots, lettucs, and watermelon to the zoo along with plenty of pogies and cigar minnows for Electroglide!
Nice job, girls! Electroglide sends a big "thank you!"
