Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo Annual Fundraiser Supports Bringing New Cats to the Zoo, Animal Care and Educational Programs

Gulf Shores, AL, March 1, 2024 – Now is the time for you to support your local Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo and help bring new big cats to the zoo, provide animal care and support conservation education programs throughout the community.

Tickets and Sponsorships are available now for the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo’s spring fundraiser Art on the Wild Side click here.

Art on the Wild Side begins with an online auction on March 16, that includes one-of-a-kind, unique pieces of art created by your favorite zoo animals. Whether they painted with paws, claws, fur, footprints, or nose boops, each piece is a true masterpiece. The auction also includes vacation packages, golf outings, jewelry, and more.

The auction continues as you dress in your favorite animal print or safari wear at the Art on the Wild Side evening celebration on Saturday, March 23. Sponsorship/VIP and general admission tickets are available for this evening of live entertainment, exquisite food, drinks, and meet and greets with animal ambassadors all night long.

“You don’t want to miss this event. It’s a night full of dancing, animals, auctions, and even some fun surprises,” said Paula White, Director of Development. “Most importantly the support we receive from this fundraiser is critical for the zoo’s animal care and educational programs.”

This year, your support is even more exciting, the Zoo Board of Directors have chosen to designate a portion of the proceeds to help expand the zoo’s big cat collection, with the possibility of bringing a new pair of tiger cubs or cheetahs to the zoo in the future.

As a non-profit organization, the support from this event is critical to helping provide care and enrichment to the over 300 animals that call the zoo home. It also helps the zoo provide conservation education and programs that continue its mission of allowing people to engage with wildlife and influence them to protect the world around them.

Tickets are $125 per person; VIP Tickets are included with sponsorship packages beginning as low as $500 for the evening event on March 23. Access to the online auction begins March 16, and you can bid from anywhere in the world for your favorite animal art or incredible package from local businesses and community members.
