The Zoo Open 9 am-4 pm as Safari Club Restaurant temporarily closing for seasonal preparations, beginning May 1, 2023,

GULF SHORES, AL, April 27, 2023 – The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is open daily, 9 am – 4 pm. The Zoo Foundation Board will be temporarily closing the Safari Club Restaurant beginning May 1, 2023, for seasonal preparations. This will not affect the zoo’s operations in any way. All exhibits and adventures that the community loves and participates in will continue to be open and available for all guests.

 

In a Zoo Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors Meeting held Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the Board determined a temporary closure beginning May 1, 2023, would be the best course of action to take as they make seasonal preparations for the Safari Club Restaurant. 

 

“We apologize for any inconvenience this causes the public. Our goal is to create the best restaurant experience for guests and staff, and we hope everyone will be back as soon as the preparations have taken place,” said Paige Griffin, Zoo Foundation Board Chairman. “Most importantly, we want everyone to know that the restaurant is run separately from the zoo, and the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo remains open and ready to provide the same wonderful educational experiences it always has every day of the week.”

 

Although the restaurant will be closed, drink and mini melt ice cream machines are located throughout the zoo, and guests are welcome to bring in snacks and drinks (no alcohol or glass allowed on zoo premises).
